Goodreads Monday

This weekly meme was started by @Lauren’s Page Turners. It is now being hosted by Budget Tales Book Blog. To participate, choose a random book from your GoodReads TBR and show it off. Which sounds easy enough until you have to decide how to choose that book! I think I will use a different way each week, like picking a color or number of pages. I will let you know each week how I chose the book and then something interesting about it, like how it ended up on the list or why I want to read it. Got it? Okay let’s get started.

Because fall starts tomorrow I decided to go with a book who’s cover somehow reminds me of fall. I was looking for either a color or trees with red or orange leaves, you get the idea. I found around 5 books that fit the bill but this is the one that really attracted me and reminds me of fall.

I must say that this cover is absolutely gorgeous, and I just love how the leaves are mixed into her hair. I still haven’t decided if I am going to read this one, but I keep it on my TBR just so I can look at that cover.

You might be wondering why I might not read it. While I enjoy reading the Shadowhunter novels, the Infernal Devices series was my least favorite of the group. This one involves the children of those books and the short stories I read about them in the Ghosts of the Shadowmarket were not my favorite. Plus it is so freaking long, I just can’t see myself reading it right now. But never say never, right? I probably will read it eventually.

Have you read this one? What did you think?

  1. This cover is so gorgeous and the little details (like the leaves in the hair) make it even more so! I wanted to pick this one up but I also had the same considerations as you, since I haven’t read her most famous series. But I did pick up another series of hers without reading anything else beforehand, and while a little confusing, it was still really enjoyable!
