My June TBR

How can it possibly be June already? The weather certainly feels like it is summer, at least for this weekend, but my brain is not quite ready for it. Probably because this school year has felt like the longest yet! I still have three more weeks of teaching and then at least one more week after that to get the library packed up for the summer cleaning crew. It feels like a lot, but I know it can be done. I just hope I can find the time to get some reading done as well.

I have lots of good books planned for this month, starting with my ARC’s. I’m not sure I can top the ARC’s I read in May but this looks like a good bunch, so I am being optimistic that they will be good if not fantastic.

ARC’s I need to read in June

First let’s just admire that cover for What We Devour. I just love the creepiness of it and that skull is just telling me to pick it up and devour it. The synopsis sounds really good too so I am really hoping this one is as good as it looks.

Time Villains is a middle grade with an awesome premise of having the worst dinner guests of all times. This is a twist on that old party game, who would you invite to dinner if you could? It sounds funny and awesome and I am really looking forward to it.

All These Warriors is the sequel to All These Monsters which was one of my favorite reads from last year. I can’t wait to find out what happens and how it all ends up.

Small Favors is the newest book by the author of House of Salt and Sorrow, a favorite from 2019. This one also sounds really good and is a loose retelling of Rumplestiltskin.

Other Books I will read…

I enjoyed The Paper Magician and have started The Glass Magician and can’t wait to dive into the next book in the series, The Master Magician. I haven’t yet decided if I will pick up the Plastic Magician this month as well.

I am really excited to get my copy of The Nature of Witches. I am also really excited to attend the launch party tomorrow. I always enjoy listening to authors talk about their craft.

I was able to get an ARC for Paper and Blood, which comes out in August, so I decided I needed to do a reread of the first book, Ink and Sigil. I am really excited for the sequel as my favorite druid and his dogs will be making an appearance in this one.

I try to read at least one back list book that I actually own each month and Imposters has won the lottery for this month. I really enjoyed the Uglies series and am looking forward to going back to that world for a totally new story.

I know I will probably read more than 8 books in June, or at least I hope so, but this list gives me a bit of focus for what I need to get done.

What book or books do you plan on reading in June? Let me know in the comments.
