Book Blogger Hop

The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer @ Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. It was relaunched on February 15, 2013 by Billy@Coffee Addicted Writer. Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end the following Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to your own blog.

Which do you think is more likely – clean utopia or frenzied dystopia? submitted by Julie @ Stepping Stone Book Reviews

Up to maybe about ten years ago, I probably would have answered clean utopia. But, especially lately, I have lost a lot of faith and hope in humanity and fear that we are heading toward a dystopia like ending. But that could just be the cranky old lady speaking in my head.

I do for the most part have hope that our lives will continue to get better on the whole, and that in some hundred years or so, we might just achieve some kind of utopia. But if the science fiction writers are to be believed, no society is ever perfect. There is always some sort of seedier underside if you look closely enough.

But on the other hand, I think that the world won’t descend into total decay, but will probably go out with a bang and total annihilation. I am such an optimist.

I’m being a bit wishy washy with this, mostly because the answer depends on my mood and what it going on in the world. But I am pulling for the utopia and hoping for the best.
