We are getting closer to the the halfway mark in the year and I feel like I haven’t accomplished anything! May is traditionally a busy month for me, but I think this year it might be a little better. I am at least taking a weekend (including a Friday) for myself and doing something fun! I am also hoping that this month’s weather is more like our usual spring here in the PNW. April was just too cold for my liking. But the flowers are still blooming on time, so that is something.
Lots of good books on my TBR list for May. I have been struggling a little bit to find ARC’s on NetGalley that I am interested in reading for both June and July. This has been unusual for me, I usually want to read way too many and have to pick and choose which four to request. Also I keep finding that all that books I want to read come out on the same day!
Well enough complaining, let’s get to the books, shall we?
ARC’s I need to read in May

Last Call at the Nightingale will be my first ARC for the month. I am looking forward to this historical mystery. I have always been a little bit fascinated by the roaring twenties culture, especially in New York City.
I have enjoyed books by Riley Sager before and they are usually pretty quick reads. The House Across the Lake sounds really good and takes place in Vermont.
I could not resist the cover for The Shelterlings but then when I read the summary I knew I had to read this. It sounds just adorable and I can’t resist a book that has a squirrel as the main character.
The Dead Romantics will round out my ARC’s for the month. I loved Geekerella so I am looking forward to this author’s foray into adult romance!
Other books I plan to read

Amongst Our Weapons was the only book on my April TBR that I didn’t get to. It wasn’t my fault, my hold just didn’t come through in time. I am expecting it to arrive soon and I am really looking forward to returning to this series.
Back at the beginning of the year I set a goal of reading books that have been sitting on my shelf for years. The Traitor’s Game is one of those books. I usually enjoy this author’s books so hopefully this one won’t disappoint.
Mickey 7 is a book that caught my eye at the beginning of the year. It has been a while since I read a straight up science fiction book and I am excited to finally read it.
Finlay Donovan is Killing It is a book that I have been seeing around alot lately. It sounds hilarious and I expect to be laughing out loud with this one.
I thoroughly expect to read more than 8 books, but only naming eight gives me wiggle room to choose whatever I am in the mood for. I do intend to also be finishing the Harry Dresden series this month, or at least the ones that are published. I am also hoping to get in at least one more middle grade book, but I’m not sure which one yet.
I hope you have a great reading month!
