Stacking the Shelves

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! And audiobooks. Don’t forget audiobooks!

In other words, if you can read it or if it can be read to you – no matter how you got it – it belongs in Stacking the Shelves.

The Stacking the Shelves meme was originally hosted at Team Tynga’s Reviews. It is currently hosted by Reading Reality.

Unlike the rest of the country, which is either drowning or overheating, the weather here has been very typical for our summer. Our problem might be a slight lack of water, but we are expecting rain on Monday, which should help. Still, this beautiful weather has kept me outside mostly and so I have been a little slow in getting library books read.

Library books I have added to my bedside stack

No books from the library this week. I didn’t have any books on hold come in and I had none to return, so I didn’t stop by this week. I do have two books on their way to me and I hope to finish a couple of books this week, so I should be heading to the library at the end of the week.

ARC’s I’ve added to my Netgalley account

I have been very busy on Netgalley lately, trying to find books to fill up my late fall calendar with. And I have been very fortunate in that I just had several of my requests come through. Two of these are coming out in the fall and the other two not till next year, but they also sounded too good to pass on. I still have a couple that I am hoping come through, fingers crossed.

System Collapse (Nov 14th) is the next book in the Murderbot series and I can’t wait to get started on this one. I just love Murderbot!

The Olympian Affair (Nov 7th) is the next book in a series by one of my favorite authors. The first book came out in 2015, but then he got busy with the Dresden Files and is only now circling back to this one. I haven’t read the first book, but I plan to.

Under the Storm (Feb 2024) is a murder mystery by a well known Swiss author. It sounded very interesting and I usually enjoy Scandinavian crime books so I thought I would give it a chance.

The Tainted Cup (Feb 2024) is a fantasy mystery with magic, and a Holmes and Watson like pairing. The summary has me intrigued and I am looking forward to giving this one a chance.

I hope you are all enjoying your weekends and that you are able to make time for reading.

Happy Reading!
