The Three Ws are:

What are you currently reading?
What have you recently finished reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

I went away for a quick local trip for a couple of days this weekend, and while I had a lovely time it did impact my reading a little. But that is ok. It was nice to get away from home and see some lovely scenery for a day or two.

What am I currently reading?

The Mystery at Dunvegan Castle is my current ARC that I am reading and quite enjoying. This is the third in an urban fantasy series set in Scotland, this time on the island of Skye. I am really enjoying this locked castle mystery and can’t wait to see how it ends.

I am only a couple of chapters into Fourth Wing, and so far I’m not seeing what all the fuss is about. I am hoping it will get better, but I’m thinking maybe not as I’m not particularly jiving with the author’s writing style. But we will see.

I am just starting the audiobook for A Conjuring of Light today. I am really glad that I decided to reread this series. It is just so good.

What have I recently finished reading?

I really enjoyed Her Radiant Curse. I liked the characters and Vanna’s growth over the course of the book was nicely done.

American Sherlock was really interesting. The author only focused on a few of Oscar Heinrich’s better known cases, but his techniques were fascinating to read about and way ahead of any one else during the time period.

A Gathering of Shadows was so well done. I loved that there were two narrators this time and that we got to see things from Rhy’s point of view as well. I had forgotten about that cliffhanger at the end! I am so glad I didn’t have to wait to start the next book.

What will I read next?

The Secret Hours is the next ARC I need to read. It is a spy novel set in London and of course there is a lot of political intrigue and backstabbing involved.

Vampire Weekend I think will be my next library read. I need something short and hopefully funny right now.

The Lewis Man is the second book in a series also set in Scotland. It is another murder mystery and I am really looking forward to listening to this one.

Well that is my reading week sorted. I am really hoping that Fourth Wing starts to get better for me. I’ve seen so many good reviews for it, that it is kind of bumming me out that I’m not enjoying it more. Till next time…

Happy Reading!

  1. I hope you enjoy Fourth Wing! I haven’t read it yet but I’m planning to pick it up at some point. I’ve jumped around all week and I finally settled on The Exorcist. But it’s been one of those weeks where nothing really suits me.
