April is always one of my favorite months, but also one of my worst. I love seeing all of the trees in bloom, I just wish I wasn’t so allergic to them. Oh well, spring also brings lots of rain to the Pacific Northwest, but that just means more beautiful flowers. It also means that our beautiful sunny summer is creeping closer.
I only have one ARC to read for May, but that is ok, because I somehow managed to be accepted for six ARCs in June. This will be the second time this year I’ve managed to do this. But I think it will be ok, only one is super long, the others are relatively short and one is a novella. But to get a jump on them all, I have decided to read three of them in April, which will leave four for May, which works out perfect.
For my other books, I hope to catch up on some of the books I own that I haven’t read yet. I only currently have one book checked out from the library, and the ones I have on hold may or may not show up in time to read in April. I will probably find some books to take home with me the next time I visit, but I think I will try hard to keep that to a minimum, so I can catch up on other books I want to read.
ARCs I plan on reading

When Among Crows is my only ARC for May. It is an urban fantasy novella that sounded really interesting. Also I love this author’s work, so it was an easy choice to pick this one up.
Icon and Inferno is the second book in the Stars and Smoke series. I loved the first book and I am excited to read this one. It is a spy thriller with two wonderful characters and hopefully a fast paced plot.
The Perils of Lady Catherine de Bourgh is the next book in the Mr Darcy & Miss Tilney series. I adored the first two books based on the characters from the Jane Austen novels and look forward to spending time with this one.
A Novel Love Story is the newest book by one of my favorite romance authors. I have so far loved all of her books and expect that this one will be loved too.
Other books I plan to read this month

A Step Past Darkness is my only library book that I currently have in my possession. It is a murder mystery/thriller that sounds really good.
Literary Cats is a nonfiction book that I plan on reading in April. As you might have guessed it is about cats, specifically famous cats from literature and a few who belonged to famous authors.
The Last Heir to Blackwood Library is a book I picked up recently and I am excited to read it. I have heard some good things about it so we shall see.
Endless Water, Starless Sky is a book that I have been meaning to read for quite awhile. I read the first book ages ago, but never got around to reading this one.

I am so excited to read all of these books this month, plus many more I am sure. Do you have any books that you are planning on reading in April that you are excited about? Let me know in the comments. Until next time…
Somehow I’ve managed to pick up 5 ARCs for May so I need to get started on mine fairly quickly. I hope that you enjoy The Last Heir to Blackwood Library. I thought it was a good story with some nice gothic touches.

It is so easy to get too many ARC’s! I’m usually so careful not to overwhelm myself, but there were just too many good ones for June!
