Stacking the Shelves

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! And audiobooks. Don’t forget audiobooks!

In other words, if you can read it or if it can be read to you – no matter how you got it – it belongs in Stacking the Shelves.

The Stacking the Shelves meme was originally hosted at Team Tynga’s Reviews. It is currently hosted by Reading Reality.

I hope that all of you are having a marvelous weekend. My trip to the library this week was great. I actually returned more books than I checked out, so yeah me! I had one book on hold and then ended up with two more coming home. I wasn’t planning on taking them, but I just saw them on the shelf and they looked so lonely that I picked them up and took them home. Luckily these are all rather short books, so it shouldn’t take much time to read.

I also ordered three books from one of my local indie stores and they finally arrived this week. I am very excited about these and hope to get to them soon.

Library books I have added to my bedside stack

Heir, Apparently is the second book in a very funny YA romcom. I read the first book, The Prince and the Apocalypse, and just loved it so I really needed to read the next one.

While Idaho Slept is a nonfiction book that I almost grabbed last week, but didn’t. I then found myself thinking about it all week. So when I saw it this week I just had to take it. This is a local story about a horrific murder. They have the guy who supposedly did it, but the trial hasn’t happened yet.

The Dispatcher is a first book in a novella series that just sounded so interesting that I had to take it home with me.

Books I have purchased

The Drowning House just sounds like such a different kind of book. A house washes up on a beach and no one knows where it came from or why it is there. It is a horror, mystery thriller by a fave author.

I finally decided to just purchase Clockwork Boys and The Wonder Engine recently. My library has only one copy of these and they both have been checked out forever, so I suspect that they have been lost. Looking forward to reading these two.

That is it for this week’s Stacking the Shelves. I’m not sure if I am going to be doing this post next week. I don’t have any books on hold coming anytime soon, and unless I get a lot read this week, I probably will be skipping my weekly trip to the library. But you never know, right? Until next time…

Happy Reading!

  1. Nice library haul. It’s always irritating when the library catalogue says they have a book but it never appears to be available. I’ve got one that has apparently been in transit to my library for the past 6 months so it looks like it might have got lost in the post.
