The Three Ws are:

What are you currently reading?
What have you recently finished reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

Happy Wednesday! It has been quite the week with lots of things going on, but I still managed to get some reading done, though mostly two audiobooks. I also discovered that there is a sequel to one of my favorite books from last year, so I immediately checked for an ARC, and yeah! I am now reading it. I’m enjoying it too. My other reads last week were good and my other current reads are going well.

What am I currently reading?

The Medusa Protocol is a last minute ARC that I added to my TBR for May. I just found out about it and had to read it now! It is a sequel to one of my favorite books from last year, Assassins Anonymous. It comes out in June.

Shadow of the Eternal Watcher is pretty good, but also a slow read, though I’m not sure why. I hopefully will have it done soon. It is a bit weird but I like the characters.

Cursebound is my current audiobook. I noticed the other day that this second book has a different reader than the first one, so decided to give it a chance. This one is so much better than the last one and I am really enjoying listening to her.

What have I recently finished reading?

All Systems Red was an interesting audiobook. I really didn’t like the formatting that much, but I did enjoy the story! Can’t wait to watch the TV show next week.

Yellowface was great and I am sorry that I took so long to read it. I really enjoyed the audiobook, the reader did a fantastic job with all of the emotions and the almost stream of consciousness writing.

The Listeners was good, but I never totally connected to the characters or the story itself. The writing is beautiful as is the setting and I loved the magical realism aspect of the story.

What will I read next?

Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil is my next ARC and probably my most anticipated read this year. I’ve heard good things about it so I am hoping that I will enjoy it.

Field Notes from a Fungi Forager is my next library read. It is a nonfiction book all about the mushrooms and fungi found here in the Pacific Northwest. I find mushrooms fascinating so this should be an interesting read.

Holy Terrors might be my next audiobook, but it might not be also. Hopefully the reading gods will look kindly upon me and will send it my way soon. If not, I don’t know what I might listen to instead.

Well that is it for this week. I hope that you have all been enjoying your reading and that your life this week has been going well. Until next time…

Happy Reading!

  1. I’m glad that you enjoyed Yellowface. It was nothing like what I expected but I really liked it’ I hope that Bury our Bones is as good as you’ve heard that it is. I’m definitely looking forward to reading it when it’s out.
