Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! And audiobooks. Don’t forget audiobooks!
In other words, if you can read it or if it can be read to you – no matter how you got it – it belongs in Stacking the Shelves.
The Stacking the Shelves meme was originally hosted at Team Tynga’s Reviews. It is currently hosted by Reading Reality.
Happy Saturday everyone! I hope you are having a marvelous weekend. Mine is busy but fun.
All of my holds seem to be showing up at the same time once again. No sooner had I picked up last week’s books, I got notices that three more were sitting on my library’s hold shelf. When it rains it pours. All of these are very popular books with long wait lists, so they will have to jump to the top of my bedside stack, so that I can get them done quickly.
I also was approved for the ARC for the newest book by Marie Lu which I am excited about. And finally, I have added another audiobook, which I will probably be starting today.
Library books I have added to my bedside stack

How to Cheat Your Own Death is the third book in the Castle Knoll cozy mystery series. I enjoyed the first two and I am sure this one will be delightful.
Wolf Worm is one you have probably all heard of. I love Kingfisher’s books and I am really looking forward to reading this one, even with the icky parts.
This Book Made me Think of You has been getting lots of good reviews. It sounds like a pretty emotional book, but a beautiful story.
ARCs I’ve added to my Netgalley account
I have loved every book that Marie Lu has written, so I was super excited to get approved for her newest high fantasy novel Mortal Things. This one doesn’t come out until October, but I might have to read it this summer as it fits one of my challenge prompts for July perfectly.
Summary from Goodreads:

Rose Lin Fairchild didn’t believe in gods, but one chose her anyway.
Rose despises Raven, the god of Death. His mysterious commands. His mercurial moods. His closed heart. But most of all, she loathes that she was forced to become his Harbinger, a human mercenary tasked to fulfil their god’s every want and whim. Still, she would do it again, because being a Harbinger is the only thing keeping her best friend alive.
When a murder rocks the world of the gods, Rose is suddenly thrust into the immortal realm’s spotlight as Raven’s heir. This is her chance to free her friend once and for all. But in order for her to ascend, she must first prove herself to the other gods—and the one person standing in her way is a fellow Harbinger.
Étienne Beauchard is notorious for his sly wit and charming good looks. Rose can’t stand that he is the one assigned to test her abilities, but as their initial hostility evolves into an intense attraction, they find that the gods’ secrets go deeper than they ever expected. Something is wrong in the immortal world, something that threatens to break their bond and engulf them all in war.
As Rose and Étienne fight to uncover the truth and trust each other with their hearts, they realize that everything hinges on the same How far would you go to save the person you love?
I was hoping for either the next book in her Stars and Smoke series or better yet Silver Dawn the next book in the Red City series. But any release by this author is sure to be a winner.
Audiobooks

Once a Villain is my next audiobook. This is the third and final book in the Monsters series. I meant to get to it last year when it came out, but never got around to it. I just hope I remember enough of the first two books to not be too lost.

Well five more books added to my ever growing stack! Hopefully things will slow down a bit so I can catch up. What have you added to your stack this week? Let me know in the comments.
Until next time...
