I celebrate my birthday this weekend, so what better way to celebrate than to do this tag. This will be the sixth year that I have done this one. It is always fun to see how my answers change. If you would like to read my previous years answers just click on these dates: 2020, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025.
Count your birthday along your TBR shelf and then subtract your birth month:

I decided to count along my Goodreads TBR read shelf instead of my physical shelf, I really don’t have that many books that I own that I haven’t read, and I am getting so old that I would have to count some more than once I’m sure. Plus I found this little gem that I have forgotten about. The Birdcage Library sounds delightful and I just love that cover!
If you could spend your birthday with any fictional character who would it be and why?

I had a tough time choosing this year, so many fun characters, but finally decided on the gang from Lady’s Knight. I think this book was the funniest one I read all year and I am so looking forward to reading the sequel this year.
Find a book that takes place in the season you were born in.

A Long Time Gone was a great mystery that I read last year and it does take place in winter. In fact, it being winter was a very important part of the story as well. This is a great mystery, police procedural series that I highly recommend.
Find a book the color of your birthstone.

January’s birthstone is the garnet which is a really hard color to find on book covers. Garnets are usually a deep dark red. The Crimson Throne is an excellent cover to represent this stone and it was a great story. I am so looking forward to the next book in this historical fantasy centered on the Queen Mary/Queen Elizabeth rivalry.
Pick A Book Set In A Time Period, World, or Country You Would Like To Have Been Born In:

This was an easy one this year. The Inn in A Witch’s Guide to Magical Innkeeping just sounds like such a fun place to visit. I would love to see an undead chicken and the other characters sound like a lot of fun to have a cup of tea with.
What book or bookish thing do I want for my birthday?

I couldn’t think of anything bookish I want, but I certainly want more time for reading this year.

I wish all of you with January birthdays a very happy day and hope that you are able to surround yourself with love and books! Until next time…
