The Birthday Book Tag!

I celebrated my birthday this week, so I decided that I needed to do this tag once again! It is such a fun one to do, and I so enjoy seeing how my answers change every year. Well, Let’s get started!

Count your birthday along your bookshelf and then subtract your birth month:

I took a different approach to counting this year. Instead of counting my age, I decide to count the day (17). A lot less counting! And a book I love was the result. I adore this book and have been thinking of rereading it lately.

If you could spend your birthday with any fictional character who would it be and why?

This was a bit tough, so many good characters out there, but I finally decided on Finlay and Vero. They are such fun characters and I would love to be around them and join in their shenanigans. Maybe even help them dispose of a dead body or two.

Find a book that takes place in the season you were born in.

This was a bit tough, until I remembered that Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone, takes place in the winter. But the cover isn’t very wintry, so that is why I chose two for this prompt. When I went to the library this week to pick up a hold, I noticed Frozen Detective sitting on a shelf and picked it up. I love the title and the cover, and the summary sounded cute. So even though I really didn’t need another book, it came home with me.

Find a book the color of your birthstone.

Garnetts are the birthstone of January and their color runs from deep red to a reddish purple. This book seemed to fit the color. I am looking forward to reading The Sinister Booksellers of Bath in the next few weeks.

Pick A Book Set In A Time Period, World, or Country You Would Like To Have Been Born In:

This one had me stumped for a little bit as nothing immediately came to mind. But while looking through my Goodreads list this book immediately jumped out at me as the perfect one. I loved the world that Hart and Mercy lived in. It was so different from other fantasies and sounded like a great place to live.

What book or bookish thing do I want for my birthday?

I always buy myself a book for my birthday, but this year I got two! Even though they both came out before the actual day, I am counting them as gifts to myself! They are both books that I have been waiting to read for a long time! The Stolen Heir was wonderful and I have been enjoying Hell Bent immensely! What great gifts to give myself.

I wish all of you with January birthdays a very happy day and hope that you are able to surround yourself with love and books!
