About this picture:
This is a hand blown glass chandelier by the glass artist Dale Chihuly. Because he is a local artist, you will find a lot of his work around the Seattle area. We even have a museum of just his work. He is pretty well known outside of the area with works being displayed all around the world. There are many versions of this type of chandelier, all titled End of the Day. They are all beautiful and unique. This one is made up of three parts, although this picture is only of the bottom two. I had a hard time getting a good picture of all three, but if you scroll through you can see the top section and the whole thing. I love his work and admire it whenever I run across it, even when I have seen it a hundred times, like this one that hangs in my local mall. This one was dedicated September 7, 2006.
Interesting fact, many people don’t realize that Chihuly is blind in one eye and because of some other physical difficulties, has not blown his own glass since the early 80’s. He has a team of artists that help him create his artistic visions.
