The Three Ws are:
What are you currently reading?
What have you recently finished reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
Hello and happy Wednesday everyone! I have had a very busy week doing a lot of catch up on chores that I have been ignoring. But I was still finding time to read. I finished four books this week and really enjoyed all of them. My reading mood has been a bit funny lately though, and I am not sure at this point what I will be picking up next.
Sadly this week I did have to DNF a book. I hardly ever do this, but I was just finding 50 True Stories That Will Scare You to Death totally boring and not very well written. They all seemed very repetitive as well. Apparently the author is a well known podcaster, so his fans will probably enjoy it, but it just wasn’t for me.
What am I currently reading?

Lately I have really been in the mood to read some short stories in between my other books. I’ve been switching back and forth between Magic & Mystery and Busybodies, both Amazon Original stories. So far I have enjoyed all of the stories I’ve read, so I have decided to just finish these up before starting anything else.
Fallen Beauty is so far a beautiful and very intriguing story. It is about a young artist whose paintings give immortality to whoever she paints. It is a very interesting magical system that involves a lot of sacrifice. This is my current audiobook and the readers are marvelous.
What have I recently finished reading?

Monsters of Ohio was a lot of fun to read. There were a few squeamish parts, but nothing too bad. I initially really liked this cover, but now after reading it I think it gives too much away, but at the same time doesn’t really show the monsters as I pictured them from their descriptions. Hopefully I will get my review done soon.
Over My Dead Body was a great supernatural mystery featuring a grumpy main character trying to solve her own murder. I loved how Miriam’s character changed over the course of the book. The secondary characters were all great too, especially her brother Chris. Highly recommend this one if you are looking for a cozy ghost mystery that is a lot of fun.
🎧*To Dream in Darkness was absolutely beautiful and maybe my favorite read for this month. I loved the story and the characters. The audiobook was well done, although as always I wished they had used more than one reader when there are multiple points of view.
🎧The Door-to-Door Bookstore was a really sweet read that I was glad I found. I loved the characters and the friendship between the Carl and the young girl who befriends him as well as the many people who they deliver the books to. Fans of Fredrik Backman will undoubtedly enjoy this one. Plus lots of talks about books and finding the right book for the right reader.
What will I read next?

A Destiny So Cruel is the next ARC that I need to read and will probably start in the next day or so. The is the second book in a really good fantasy duology. A Fate So Cold was one of my favorite books from last year, so I am really looking forward to see how it all ends.
Jenny Will Eat You Now is a book that I just recently learned about. Jenny Greenteeth seems to be in a lot of books lately, but none of the other retellings have caught my attention like this one. It is a cozy horror romance, which is a thing I guess? Anyways, love the cover and the story sounds like a lot of fun.
🎧The Knave and the Moon is also a second book in a series. I recently listened to the first book, The Knight and the Moth, and really enjoyed it, so hopefully this one will be just as delightful.

That is it for this week’s edition of WWW Wednesday. I hope the rest of your week is marvelous and that you are enjoying your reading.
Until next time…
I’m currently reading Revenge of the Sunshine by Jackie Lau
Last week I finished 🥁
1 False Flag by Rachel Grant
2 Mountain Man by Lane Hayes
3 Braden by Veronica Scott
Not sure what next as I’ve just started the Jackie Lau

I’m sorry for the DNF! But it seems like the rest of your reads egregiously made up for it!!
I am going through the Magic & Mystery stories too, but I am taking my sweet time with it. That said, so far they were pretty good, but they were all by authors I already knew and enjoy. Now I have to read some by authors that I don’t know, and I keep procrastinating! But I will do it… sooner or later!
The new Scalzi book sounds like a lot of fun, and I am really curious about that! I also hope to read The Knave and the Moon soon-ish!!
And I saw Jenny Will Eat You Now but I always passed it because I thought it was horror, and that’s not my genre, but cozy horror can work for me, so now I have to think about it, because I am curious (and I just love the title!!)
