Wow! This book was amazing! It has risen above all of the other books I’ve read so far this year to be my favorite. Ms. Rossi has taken the idea of the four horsemen and woven a tale that is modern and addictive. The narrator is Gideon, who dies during a parachute

accident, but is brought back to life. While recovering from his extensive injuries, he discovers that he has strange new powers, like healing really quickly and making the people around him angry. He eventually comes to learn that he is the incarnation of War, one of the four horsemen of the apocalypse. With the help of a Seeker, he finds the other four horsemen, Death, Famine and Conquest. They must learn to fight together to save the world from demons. I just love the characters Ms. Rossi has created here, including the demons and the horses who all have their own personalities and unique abilities. I am really hoping that because there are four horseman that there will be four books, and each book will be told from one of the other horseman’s perspectives. As much as I loved Gideon it would be interesting to hear from Death or Famine as well. Really looking forward to the next one.
