This week’s topic:
Books You Didn’t Get to in 2018
— Discuss the books you didn’t quite get around to this year but are at the top of your list for 2019!
This list could easily go about a mile long. I’m sure I could find about 100 books that came out this year that I wanted to read, but didn’t get too. And I am sure there are even more that I didn’t hear about, but if I did would want to read. Well I was able to narrow it down to 5 books. I did it by looking at the books that I already have on hand, but haven’t read. So here are my five books that I really wished I had read this year, but didn’t for whatever reason.
Muse of Nightmares by Laini Taylor
I really don’t have a good excuse for why I haven’t read this one yet, except that I really wanted to reread the first book and I just couldn’t find a good chunk of time to do that. Plus I knew that I didn’t want to rush through it either, or not give it the attention it deserves. I think I might choose one of my breaks in 2019 to tackle getting them done.
The Traitor’s Game Jeniffer Nielsen
Another one I don’t have a good excuse for. I love her books and this one has just been sitting on my bedside table unread. Although that may end up being a good thing. This is the first of two books and if I wait until February to read it I can pick up the next book and not have that long to wait. That was my plan all along, I’m sure.
Skyward by Brandon Sanderson
This one has not been lying around as long as some of my other books, but I still wish that I had found the time to read it this year. It just sounds really good. Plus I have enjoyed all of his books I’ve read so far. Although this is the start to a two book series as well. Maybe I should wait again?
Stormcaster by Cinda Willems Chima
This one I did make the conscious decision not to read this year, but to wait until the last book comes out in March 2019. I love this world and have enjoyed this series. (Although I’m still not sure if I will ever forgive her for that death in the first chapter of Flamecaster. Fans know what I am talking about.) All of these books are pretty long and I really want to read them altogether, so this one might not get read until the summer when I have the time. I also want them to go back to the old style of cover, similar to the first series.
Two Dark Reigns by Kendare Blake
There is a slim chance that this one might get read before the year ends. I just picked it up from the library and I am hoping to start it soon. But it is pretty long, so I may not quite get it done before midnight on New Year’s Eve. I have enjoyed this series and I am looking forward to seeing how it ends. I wanted to reread the other two, but if I reread everything I won’t ever get anything new read. Maybe I will just give up sleeping so that I can read it all.
Oh I loved Muse of Nightmares!

I have a whole stack of 2018 releases that I just had to buy because I couldn’t wait to dive in…and yet, there they sit, unread! haha one of the books that I REALLY want to get to ASAP is The Outsider by Stephen King.

I have the same problem. I bought most of these books because I so wanted to read them, and then of course I haven’t!
