I haven’t done one of these in awhile, so I thought it would be fun to do it this week. I am way behind in my reviews, so wanted to let you all know what I have been reading. I recently set a goal to read less fantasy and I have been doing a pretty good job of reading other things, so I’m using this as sort of an update.
A little about the meme:
Welcome to WWW Wednesday! This meme was formerly hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm and revived on Taking on a World of Words.
The Three Ws are:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
What am I currently reading?
I am usually reading at least three books at any given time: an ARC, an audiobook and then a published book.
The Heart Forger is a reread in anticipation of reading the final book, The Shadow Glass, which just came out. I am enjoying it as much as the first time. The audiobooks are very well done. I can’t wait to finish it so I can dive into the final book.
The Devouring Gray is the ARC that I am currently reading. So far I am enjoying it. It is just as creepy as that cover.
The Vanishing Stair was one of my most anticipated reads this winter. For some reason it took my library forever to get a copy, so I just started it over the weekend. So far so good.
What did I just recently finish reading?
I really liked The Princess and the Fangirl. It was such a fun read, and look no fantasy, well unless you count the fact that it all takes place at a Con and people are all dressed up as favorite characters.
The Bone Witch was also a reread. I just love the world building and the magical system in this series. I also did the audiobook for this one and I cannot speak highly enough of the readers. They were awesome.
There is an interesting story about Rivers of London that I will tell in my review. I really enjoyed this one, and will definitely continue the series.
What do I think I will read next?
King of Fools is next up on my ARC list. Ace of Shades was one of my favorite reads last year, so I am really looking forward to reading this one.
Defy the Worlds will be my next audiobook. I reread the first one last month and really enjoyed the audiobook. The final book comes out next month. It is high on my list to get my hands on.
Ship of Smoke and Steel is a recently published book by Django Wexler, a local author. I read and enjoyed some of his middle grade books so I am looking forward to reading this one.
Great post! The Vanishing Stair looks really interesting, I’m excited to hear your thoughts on it! I just did my first ever WWW Wednesday, it’s so nice to have a way to check in mid-month on what we’re reading and looking forward to!
