Well it is hard to believe that it is almost October. This has always been one of my favorite months, especially growing up in New England, with all of the beautiful foliage. I still like this time of year, even though it means that the rainy season has started here in the Pacific Northwest. We still get beautiful days though which is what I always look forward too.
Last month I had six books on my TBR and I have read four of them so far. Not bad for September when my reading usually goes down. I probably will read the other two eventually, just not right now. But let’s not dwell on the past. It is time to look forward and see what I have planned for October!
ARCs I need to read
November 3rd November 10th November 17th
Instant Karma sounds really cute. It will be interesting to see how this author, known more for her scify and fantasy will do with a contemporary romance. Yeah there is some magic in there, but it doesn’t sound like it is the main thing.
Lies Like Poison is a bit thriller, a bit mystery and a bit fairy tale. Sounds very intriguing.
This is Not the Jess Show has had it’s publication date moved a lot but I am pretty sure at this point that November is the final date. It sounds like a mash up of a lot of different genres, but still an interesting read.
What else am I planning on reading?
Umm, I really don’t know? I have been so moody with my reading lately and I am thoroughly annoyed with how slow my local library has been with getting new releases out to people, that I am relying on what I have on hand and what I have recently bought for my reading. But here are some things I suspect I will read.

I don’t know how many of you follow Rachel Caine, but she has been fighting cancer for awhile now and things are currently not looking good. In her last newsletter she said that the best way to support her was to buy her books.
“If you want to do something for us, buying books from my back catalog is always a huge help. And the newest Stillhouse Lake book, HEARTBREAK BAY, is now available for preorder!“
So I did, I haven’t yet read the Stillhouse Lake series but have heard great things about it. I ordered all of the books, but so far these are the only three that have come. When I am done with my current book I am going to jump into these. I think they will make a great October read.
I really want to get The Library at Mount Char read this month too, but we will see. Throne of Jade and Black Powder War are the next books in the Temeraire Series and will be my audiobooks for the month.
Hopefully I will get more books read this month than I did in September. School is settling into a new sort of rhythm, but I am sure that won’t last once the district decides to move to the hybrid model they have planned.
Instant Karma looks so cute! I love the Stillhouse Lake series (although the last one wasn’t my fave) but I also just got the next ARC in the series and I’m excited to get into it. Can’t wait to see what this one will be like! Hope you enjoy all these reads 🙂

The Library at Mount Char was so good, but also so very disturbing. I couldn’t read anything for at least two days after reading it. I don’t feel like it got the press it deserved. Hope you enjoy! Happy reading 🙂
