It has been awhile since I did a GoodReads Monday post. I’m not entirely sure what my reasoning was behind stopping, but I have been thinking that it is time to start it up again.
This weekly meme was started by @Lauren’s Page Turners. It is now being hosted by Budget Tales Book Blog. To participate, choose a random book from your GoodReads TBR and show it off. Which sounds easy enough until you have to decide how to choose that book! I think I will use a different way each week, like picking a color or number of pages. I will let you know each week how I chose the book and then something interesting about it, like how it ended up on the list or why I want to read it. Got it? Okay let’s get started.
Since our weather lately has been more like summer than spring, I thought I would pick a book that is coming out in either July or August this year. This is a book that I have been waiting a long time for. The release day got delayed for a year, for various reasons, and I can’t confirm for sure that it is going to come out in July, but I am keeping my fingers crossed that it is.
Reign (Stormheart #3) by Cora Carmack
FIRST SHE ROARED. THEN SHE RAGED. NOW IT’S TIME FOR HER REIGN.
Aurora Pavan wanted to change her world.
She wanted to protect her people, not because they paid taxes, but because they deserved to live without fear. She wanted Pavan to be a home that welcomed everyone–remnants, stormhunters, and witches included.
For the first time in her life, she did not dread the duty into which she was born. She wanted it.
Then she met him. The Stormlord–the man who wielded the same magic as she, but with the intent to destroy rather than save. The Aurora Pavan who came home from that confrontation was not the same girl that had braved the wildlands and joined a rebellion. She was no longer the girl who was ready to change the world, ready to rule.
But she’s the queen now all the same. And her kingdom needs her.
If only she can keep the new darkness inside her at bay.
I absolutely loved the first two books in this series, Roar and Rage. They were both fantastic, with great characters and a world that had weather magic at its core. I will probably have to reread the first two books before this one, I am sure I have forgotten so much, but it will totally be worth it. And with my memory, it will almost be like reading them for the first time, right?.
Have you started this series? What book are you most looking forward to this summer? Leave a comment and let me know.
