Well this has been a slow week for reading. I’m not entirely sure why, as I don’t think I was any busier than other weeks. But alas I only managed to finish two books. It was mostly finding time to listen to my audiobook that did me in this week. Hard as I tried I only got 50% of it done. Well, my school break starts this weekend, so I will have lots of reading time coming up before the end of the year.

What am I currently reading?

Down Cemetery Road is Mick Herron’s debut novel. So far it is really good, with a likable main character. The chapters are long, but at least they are broken up into smaller sections.

The Kiss Curse is one that I will be starting today. I am looking forward to this one and hope that I like it better than the first one.

The God of Lost Words is just as good as the first two books, but it is taking a bit of time for me to get through it. Hopefully I will have more listening time in the next couple of days.

What did I recently finished reading?

Exiles was really good. It was a very low key mystery, but very well done. I loved the australian setting and the characters were wonderful. I hope to pick up the other books by this author at some point.

Shades of Rust and Ruin was a really interesting read. I loved the world building and the writing was beautiful. Unfortunately I just never really connected with the characters which made the story drag a bit.

What will I read next?

Emily Wilde’s Encyclop a edia of Faeries is the next ARC I need to read for January. I have two more after this one to get done before their release dates.

Belladonna will be my next library read. I have heard good things about this one so I am looking forward to finally getting it read.

Unwind will be my next audiobook I think. This is one of the books on my backlist TBR what I was trying to get read this year. I usually love books by this author so I hope this will be a good one.

So with only finishing two books this week, I am of course behind on my Goodreads goal. I am still confident that I will make it! My next two weeks will allow me plenty of reading time! Until next week, Happy Reading!
