The Birthday Book Tag!

I celebrate my birthday this weekend, so what better way to celebrate than to do this tag. This will be the fifth year that I have done this one.It is always fun to see how my answers change. I limited myself to books published either last year or this one just to make things more interesting and so that I’m not giving the same answers as last year.If you would like to read my previous years answers just click on these dates: 2020, 2022, 2023, 2024.

Count your birthday along your TBR shelf and then subtract your birth month:

I decided to count along my Goodreads TBR shelf instead of my physical shelf, just for variety and to find something new to talk about. I am so glad I did, because I came up with this little gem from last year that I had forgotten about. Also, I was able to borrow the audiobook version so this will be my next listen.

If you could spend your birthday with any fictional character who would it be and why?

This was a tough one as there have been so many good characters lately. But I decided to go with my recent favorites, Beth and Devon. I just loved the two of them and would love to have tea with them and discuss magical birds. I’m sure I would learn so much!

Find a book that takes place in the season you were born in.

So I don’t know for sure that this takes place in winter, but the cover certainly suggests that it does. It does however take place in Alaska and it involves vampires. Another 2024 read that I hope to read soon.

Find a book the color of your birthstone.

January’s birthstone is the garnet which is a really hard color to find on book covers. Also I just did a Birthstone Book cover post last week, so I didn’t want to use any of those. I was stuck until I noticed the new cover for this third book in the Winter Sea series. Almost perfect!

Pick A Book Set In A Time Period, World, or Country You Would Like To Have Been Born In:

I have always loved Britain and I read a lot of books by British authors and are set in Britain, but I finally decided on this version where there is a magical element involved. I love the characters in this series and the magical system is very interesting.

What book or bookish thing do I want for my birthday?

I mentioned this book earlier this week, and I am really hoping it will be one of the books I unwrap on my birthday! I just love that cover!

I wish all of you with January birthdays a very happy day and hope that you are able to surround yourself with love and books!

  1. Happy, Happy Birthday. I really like your choices for this tag. I loved Death under a Little Sky. It was quite slow moving but really atmospheric. I hope you enjoy it too and hope that A Language of Dragons appears on your birthday too.
