A 2025 Challenge Update!

We have started the homestretch of the year and that means it is time for another update on my Challenges. I am very pleased to report that I have completed on of them, another one is close to being done and the third is moving along nicely. If you want to see my other updates click on the dates below.

January – March 2025

April – June 2025

If the book title has an asterisk (*) before it, that means it is linked to my review. If not, then it is linked to its Goodreads page.

Buzzword Cover Challenge

July prompt: Technology

*🎧 First TIme Caller was a great romance and probably my favorite of the year. That cover is just loaded with different technology so it was perfect for this prompt.

August Prompt: Transportation

🎧 The Road Trip was an ok romance. It was a bit on the slow side and that made it feel longer than it was. It also wasn’t as funny as I thought it would be.

September prompt: Foliage

*The Everlasting was a great read and my favorite of the month and possibly the year. The cover was also perfect for this prompt

NonFiction reading Challenge

There are no monthly prompts for this challenge, but I am trying to read at least one nonfiction book every month. I am also trying to branch out a bit into other areas of nonfiction. You can learn about the challenge here. So far I have read 10 nonfiction books this year, which I think might be a record for me.

I set out to read 12 nonfiction books, which in my mind meant one a month. This month I got two read so yeah me. I only need two more to make my goal. I am hoping to read two this month as well, both fairly short so this one should be done soon as well.

*Hell’s Half Acre (True Crime) A very chilling account of a serial killing family in Kansas at the end of the 1800’s. Well written and very engrossing.

*TreeNotes (Gardens/Nature) was a quick little read all about trees. I even learned a few things about trees and specific species.

🎧 *A Walk in the Woods (Memoir) was a very fun listen. I loved how the author talked about nature and his attempt to walk the entire length of the Appalachian trail, over 2,000 miles.

🎧 *The CIA Book Club (History) a fascinating look at how books, the free press and publishing helped in the downfall of the Soviet Union and the cold war.

52 Book Club’s Challenge

As you can see I have finished this one, at least the main one. I am still working on the bonus prompts, as they come out once a month. I will do a post listing all of the 52 prompts and the books I read for them at some point in the next few weeks. This was a fun challenge, some of the prompts were super easy, but others were hard to find. Glad I picked this one up this year, although I’m on the fence about doing it again next year. I will have to see what the prompts are.

Picture of the Month Challenge

This has nothing to do with books, but I enjoy taking pictures and this is a fun way to share them. The picture challenge is pretty simple: there is a bingo board with prompts, that I then take a picture for. These are the three that I have done the last three months. You can go to the posts about the pictures by clicking on the picture captions. I actually finished a BINGO in August, but I will continue to post pictures to the end of the year. You can learn about the challenge here.

That is it for today. I hope you are all having a fantastic day and are finding time to take care of yourselves and of course to read. Until next time…

Happy Reading!

  1. Well done on reading 10 min fiction books so far this year. My target was 8 but I’ve completely lost track of how many I’ve read so I need to do a challenge review I think 😀
