Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! And audiobooks. Don’t forget audiobooks!
In other words, if you can read it or if it can be read to you – no matter how you got it – it belongs in Stacking the Shelves.
The Stacking the Shelves meme was originally hosted at Team Tynga’s Reviews. It is currently hosted by Reading Reality.
A pretty big haul this week and many of them are holiday books. Just really feeling in the mood to read happy and funny books and holiday ones usually fit right into that. Only one ARC this week, but one that I am pretty excited about. I also purchased a book. I had been seeing it around on the blogs and on holiday lists lately and had been considering it. So when I walked into the bookstore yesterday and saw it prominently displayed, I figured the book gods were trying to tell me something. Also I picked it up to read the first line and didn’t put it down for about 5 pages. So yes, it went home with me.
Library books I have added to my bedside stack

Let It Snow is an older book (2008) but it sounded so cute I couldn’t resist it. Plus three of my favorite YA authors wrote it. It also looks like Netflix made a movie of it, so I might have to check that out as well.
The Christmas Pact also sounded pretty cute. I love a good office romance especially where there is fake dating involved.
The Grownup is more of a short story, but it is in book form so let’s call it a novella. I can’t wait to dig into this one. I love Gillian Flynn’s books!
ARCs I’ve added to my Netgalley account

The Escape Game is a YA mystery thriller that sounds really good. It is a about a group of kids competing in an escape room game show. It is full of puzzles and twists as they try to solve a murder before they all end up dead. This comes out in April.
Audiobooks

Under the Mistletoe is a collection of holiday romance short stories. I enjoy these collections that Amazon puts out and I also like that I can choose to read or listen to them or even both if I am so inclined. This is technically a purchase, although it is free for prime members.
I have two other audiobooks on hold at the library and they both say that they will be available soon. But in case they are not yet ready I can fall back on listening to this.
Purchased Books

Good Spirits has such a cute cover, and yes mine does have that cool stenciled edge. How could I not pick this up. Plus it is a supernatural holiday story with the ghost of christmas past. I am totally curling up with this one today.

That is it for this week’s Stacking the Shelves. So looking forward to seeing what others have been adding to their lists this week. Until next time…
I’ve never heard of any of these so I’ll be interested to hear what you think of them.
