April 2021 TBR

April tends to be one of my favorite months. The trees get their leaves back, flowers are blooming everywhere. The sun starts to shine just a little bit more and it gets a little bit warmer without being too hot. Of course around here we also get a bit of rain, but what else is new.

Before we get into what I am planning on reading in April, let’s take a look back at my March TBR and see how I did. I am happy to say that I read every book on my TBR! I think that is the first time that has every happened, and probably the last. Just kidding. I have several books waiting for me in April, so let’s get started.

I have four ARC’s for books that are coming out in May. That I need to read. I am pretty excited about all of them.

The Last Fallen Star is the newest edition to the Rick Riorden Presents imprint. It is based on Korean mythology and looks really good.

Thrive is the third and final book in the Overthrow series. The first two books have been scary as hell and I can’t wait to see how it all wraps up.

Ophie’s Ghost I picked up on a whim. I liked the cover and the summary sounded good to me. I am always looking for a good middle grade ghost story.

Version Zero is an adult mystery thriller by one of my favorite authors. I loved all of his YA contemporaries and I can’t wait to see what he does with this genre.

I have been a bit funny with my reading moods lately, so choosing other books to read this month has been a bit tough. Also, I’m not sure what I want to listen to when I am done with the Great Coats series. Most of these are library books, so I will probably read them at least.

The Queen’s Secret is the second book in this series. I don’t remember the first book super well, but hopefully it will come back to me enough to enjoy this one as much as I did the first one.

Spellbreaker is one I have been seeing around and am super intrigued by. I have the second book on hold and I hope to get it before the end of April, but we shall have to wait and see.

The Only Good Indians is another that I saw a lot about when it first came out. I picked this up the last time I was at my favorite indie book store after reading the first couple of pages. It is suppose to be scary, but hopefully it won’t be too bad.

Finna and Defekt are two novella’s that I just recently heard about. An Ikea-like store having a portal to another dimension is just so fun sounding that I couldn’t resist. Defect has to do with clones, so yeah, have to go there. I don’t know for sure that I will get Defekt this month, as it doesn’t come out till April 20th, but I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Hopefully I will do as well this month as I did in March. Hopefully there won’t be any duds this month or super long books!
