Summer is definitely over! As I’m writing this the wind is howling and the sky is dark with rain, although that hasn’t started yet. It is feeling very spooky outside, but I am warm and cozy inside and looking for a good book to curl up with.
My October TBR is looking good. I have four ARCs to read, two of them are also audiobooks. All are ones that I am looking forward to sitting down with. I have also picked out four more that are for my challenges. They also all look fun and I can’t wait to get started on them.
ARCs I need to read
To Dream In Darkness has such a gorgeous cover that I just had to request it. This one actually comes out at the end of this month, so I will be starting it soon.
Monsters of Ohio has a very fun cover. I just love this author’s quirky and fun science fiction stories. Hopefully this will be a fun one to read while it is dark and stormy outside.
A Destiny So Cruel is the second book in this wonderful duology. The first book, A Fate So Cold, ended with a tragic cliffhanger, so I am really looking forward to seeing how things turn out.
Fallen Beauty was another gorgeous cover that I just couldn’t pass up. It has been awhile since I have read anything by this author, but I have always enjoyed her books.
Other books I plan to read
The Locked Door is an older backlist book by this popular author. I have to confess that I have not yet read anything by this author. Not sure why, as I have always heard good things about her books. I chose this for the Buzzword Reading Challenge.
*League of Liars is actually a reread. I remember really enjoying this one back when it came out, but I never read the sequel. This fit the prompt for the Buzzword Cover Challenge, so I decided this was the time to finally finish this duology.
50 True Stories that Will Scare You to Death is my nonfiction read for this month. This will hopefully not be too scary, but will be a good one to read leading up to Halloween.
A Fellowship of Bakers & Magic is a book a chose for the 52 Book Club Challenge. This is actually for one of the bonus prompts for September. I should be done with the main challenge by the end of this week as I am reading the last book right now. I’ve heard good things about this one and hopefully it will be a nice change of pace from the rest of my reads this month.
I think I have a pretty good mix of books lined up for October. There will be other books mixed in with these, but those will mostly be ones I choose based on my moods. Until next time…..
I think that A Fellowship of Bakers and Magic will definitely be a change from some of your other reads. I enjoyed it but quickly got bored with the rest of the series. This one is quite good fun though especially if you enjoy baking shows. I’m definitely interested in reading To Dream in Darkness. That cover is beautiful.
